I am in the process of loading the image file onto the new computer and the program seems to have crashed. Its been about 45 minutes and the status bar is all the way over on the rightside like its finished, but I can't click next. This image is about 200mb. This is my first time and I am not sure how long this should take. The computer does not have HDD light, but I can hear it.

Thanks,
John

jpollack,

Please supply details:

What image app are you using?

Are you attempting this over a network or local?

Just not enough information to attempt an answer

I am sorry, the image is comming over a network. I copied the settings to a shared folder. It is still doing the same thing, but I haven't heard the HDD in a while.

As for image app I used FAST, File and Settings Transfer Wizard.

jpollack,

Work prevailed, I hope that you made some progress. You might have found that it hung for some "bit" reason and you had to begin again.

Please post back with your progress

After about 3 hours I figured the program had crashed, so I turned off the machine. The machine was set to shutdown when the power button is pressed, so there wasn't a risk of damage. When I finally booted and logged back on it appeared that everything transfered over except desktop items and shortcuts.

Thanks,
John
