Hi Everyone,

We get fast busies randomly on outbound calls...no pattern for it and there are trunks available. Any ideas?

CS1000 4.5

Thanks
Tim

Turn on the incoming (from the co side) dch messages, that is where you may see the blockage messages coming in.

use ENL MSGI for this....

You need to see the response to your setup message.

I have to ask, since this might be already done, but have you STATed the Channels in LD 60?

See if you have any in LCKOUT or DSBL..... that might cause issues also....

I always do that when the fast busies start....most of the time they're really random...maybe 10 a day. About once a week though everyone will get them for about 10 minutes....you actually have to dial the number 3 or 4 times to get through.
We always have at least 50% trunks available.

OK.....got an ENTC on one of these calls.....someone see something I don't? Looks like the first one got a fast busy so they dialed again and it went through....Thanks for the help!!!

By the way....how do you edit a post afterwards.....I didn't mean to put the numbers in there...ooops

First one shows
DIAL DN 1202366xxxx

Second one shows
DIAL DN 81202366xxxx

I take it 8 is your AC.

Yes it is.....is it normal to show the first one dialing the number, then the second one is where it actually uses the Nars/Bars?

I spoke with PaeTec today right after the fast busies started....he sent me an email showing that we were sending him errors through the Dch.....anybody know what these mean? PaeTec is on a 5E Lucent.....thx!

Sorry...forgot to post the errors...

No Lucent guys in here? Is there a section in here for Lucent?

Thanks

You might want to set up a maintenance phone and manually hit every outgoing port you have to see what works and what doesn't. Take the LTM from LD 21 and make sure you hit them all, this may show up what channels you are having issues with.

OK.....I spoke to a couple of the agents and most are saying that the second or third time they try the call after getting fast busies, if they dial slowly then they have a better chance of getting through.
Where and what in the programming changes these types of parameters?

Thanks

OK....here the Timer data block....some of them are different from default values. Would any of these maybe be causing the issue? Thx

OK....I changed them all to default....hopefully that makes a difference!!!

Can you capture the incoming messages when you get the busies on the dchannel? That would really help us help you.
