Hi there,

first of all an apology for my rather rudimentary English (hope it can be understood :)).

Using mozilla's Firefox on different Linux distributions I'm facing the following problem with two of them (Mandrake 10.0 official and FC3) while the others (currently SuSE 9.0, Yoper (guess 2.0.1.4) and Slackware 10.0) work fine:

When trying to install new extensions/themes to Firefox clicking the respective javascript-Links (javascript = activated) seemingly leeds to absolutely nothing. 15 to 20 minutes later the corresponding message window opens asking if the chosen extension/theme is really to be installed. A click on OK and again: nothing at all!?!

For the extensions sometimes another message-box is displayed lateron: 'Not able to install xy because of: out of space.' (which can't mean out of disk-space; no disk used to more than 40%)

Does anybody know why javascript – at least regarding the above mentioned aspect – doesn't work properly on this two distributions, but on others? Doesn't seem to be a Linux-problem, does it?

Any hint's welcome...

Thanks in advance!

Do you have an example?

What do you mean by 'Do you have an example?'. I've given examples in my posting (installing themes/extensions to mozillas Firefox).

I meant some code for replication.
