I tried to install software and it failed because I lacked the necessary audio drivers.
I canceled the install and now the install restarts after bootup.
How can I stop this?

You may need to go into the registry and remove any mention of the program. Also, make sure it's still not in a startup folder or something like that. Before doing the registry thing do a file search for that program and remove them.

We are always looking for new members at our computer forums:

Go to and download regcleaner, now known as powertools jv... install it, go to the registry, start\run\ type in regedit and make sure you make a back up first of your registry. Run regcleaner and look for the option of uninstalling software and start up programs, select the program that you want to uninstall and clean the registry.

Make sure BEFORE you go to the registry that the program in question is NOT in Control Panel ADD/REMOVE, If it is Remove it, if it isnt then proceed to your registry and look in the 2 keys below for that program folder and delete it.
