F78 has no "watch"

Customer has a 6x16 DR?

All was working fine including exernal autodial with pauses to enter LD access codes.

Then the power went out after the weekend and the system lost it's programming. Only 5 sets, so no big deal.

The GM has a M7310 which had keys programmed with external #s followed by a pause (stopwatch) and then the LD access code.

When I try to reprogramm the keys, I use Feature 71, press the button to program and then enter the digits for the number. When I enter Feature78 it shows F78 and not the stopwatch. Also, it does NOT pause.

I rebooted the KSU and did a startup without any affect.

As an experiment, I tried to program a number with a Link (Feature 71) and it only showed F71 instead of the digital pulse.
However, if you manually enter Feature 71 while on a call it will send the link to the CO.

???

Customer will NOT spend the money to replace the KSU and knows it is rather old so is not too upset about it not working....but I'm very curious about it.

Has anybody ever seen this before?

try forcing the 7310 to default in the KSU by plugging in a 7208 letting it set up then putting the 7310 back in.

I guess i am not understanding what u are trying to do with feature 71. I know it is the link feature but if you are trying to program an external autodial you just need to hit feature 1 then the button you want to program, then insert your pause F78 then the number you wish to dial.

Agreed, a bit lost...you cannot program with F71 as it is link only.
You need to do F*1, press a button,enter a number, then F78 a couple times then more numbers.

OK, let me try to make myself clear.

F*71 is used to program an external autodial.

If you enter F71 as part of the dialing string, you will get a symbol that looks like a digital pulse.It is used to represent the Link feature. Which is something that I do not need in this instance, but only tried it as an experiment. The reulsts of the experiment leave me to believe that there is something wrong. SW? some kind of mapping table in the SW? I don't know. It was just something I quickly did for kicks.

Forget I mentioned it.

The problem is:

I press Feature *1, press one of the 12 upper buttons, enter the phone number (1+AC+7 digits) then press Feature 78 and then enter the access code.

The display shows 18005551212F78321
There is no stopwatch...instead it reads F78 where the stopwatch should be.
It used to show a stopwatch. For a fact.
When we try to use it anyways, it does not pause.

I tried several different buttons. Even one on a M7208.

he wasen't trying to program feat 71 he was trying to prog feat 78 and when that didn't work he also noted that feat 71 was snot acting correctly also.

May depend on what software and where you program a speed dial or what item you enter F78 depend if it shows a pause symbol or F78. note that F78 is 1.5 sec so most of the time you will need to add 2 or more.

Ty programming a couple then count the seconds between number and code....if still no pause then you have a software issue.
