Is there any way to extract out the data from a public folder file without rebuilding the whole server? I have some important information in these files and don't want to rebuild the server, if possible.

Thanks in advance,
Todd

So, I'm guessing the server is dead? Then you need to build up another server with the same ORG/SITE names and go through ESEUTIL and ISINTEG runs to patch the EDB file back in. Other than that, you can spend some $$ and buy Ontrack's Power Controls. (I am not advocating this product, just informing you of it's existence)

No, the server is not dead, just it has been a while and I have recreated and formated the drives. I only have the edb files and have not gotten the proper names from the original build right yet, since I have many test domains in house.
I'm not familiar with that application. Is that just a disaster recovery app or is it specific to Exchange in any way? I wish there was a way I could extract the information out of those files without having to spend hours of reformating and recreating the server.
Thks,
TR

well, by "dead" I meant that the server was not around anymore, not that it was unable to power up, so to me, it's dead....

The Ontrack app has the ability to open EDB files and allow you to transfer the data to PST or to a live mailbox. Be advised, I think it costs around $900....
