In my view, I have a record (uniquely identified) that must be suppressed from showing up anywhere on the report, yet it holds an amount that must show up in the group totaling. All other records with their amounts would be shown.

Yes, if you were to look at the report and add up all detailed amounts you see on a calculator, it would not equal the total I want Crystal to show.

anybody got any tricks to handle this?

Just suppress that record using a condition that identifies it. Suppressed records are still included in totals. Ken Hamady, On-site Custom Crystal Reports Training & Consulting

do I do a

whilereadingrecords;
if (unique condition)
false
else
true

on every field in the detail line? or is their an easier way?

Much easier way. Suppress the entire details section.

Go into Format-Section, highlight details and click the conditon button next to the suppress property. Put in just the condition, since it is already Boolean.

You shouldn't need the WhileReadingRecords (unless you are using variables) or the IF-THEN. Ken Hamady, On-site Custom Crystal Reports Training & Consulting
