Hello

I have 3.4GHz USB 2.0 DELL PC with XP Home.

I have 2 external Hard drives. 10GB (USB 1.0)iomega and 400GB(USB 2.0)seagate. These two External Hard Drives connected with 16ft USB cables.

10GB iomega Hard drives will take only 2 minutes to connect to my PC. But 400GB Seagate is taking over 15 minutes to connect to my PC.

Someone please tell me why 400GB Seagate is taking too much time to connect to my PC. Is it because of the Size (400GB) of the Seagate Hard drive or there is anything wrong with the Seagate External Hard Drive?. After connecting Seagate Drive is working fine. Only why it is taking too much time to connect to PC?

Previously I had a 250 External Martor Hard Drive in the same spot of Seagate, but Maxtor was taking less than 3 minutes to connect to my PC.

Thanks

The bigger the longer it take windows to load them. Can you get it closer to the machine? A shorter cable will make shorter load time.
