External call forward

I am using external call forward using routes and destinations codes. A short burst of dial tone (that the caller hears) is heard before the number id dialed. Can this be changed?

nope tell user to ignore... its becuase of the des code when you reach last digit in dest code it seizes the assigned trunk when it does you get the dialtone and switch dials the dialout number assigned

Wath type of system do you have?, if it a nortel with pri and software release 6.1, tri to change the 2nd: dialtone under services:
routing services:
2nd dial tone:

on 2nd dial tone use no

that is if you have 6.1 if not it wil be like luv2ski told you
