Hi Experts. I have 4 digit extension numbers beginning with a 2. Callers know the extension numbers so I want to offer 'if you know the extension number enter it now' on the automated attendant of the IP Office Essential Edition. I also want to use single digit numbers to route to some extension numbers (i.e. for xxx press 1). So my question is, with the Essential Edition, can I use 2 for routing to a specific extension or can I not use it because my extensions begin with 2? Thank you!!

Sad. Can I have multiple layers of single digits? I.e. Press 1 for sales with a menu for each sales rep (for John press 1, Sally press 2)? Thanks!

Yes, you would just set the first "1 for sales" to transfer to a second auto attendant. Then set the next menu of digits to transfer to the extensions.

Yes you can. Method depends on which voicemail you are taking about.

For embedded voicemail, set the action for 2 to Dial by Number. Check that Direct Dial by Name is selected.

For Voicemail Pro, have a 2?? entry in the Menu action that then goes to a Transfer or Assisted Transfer set to $KEY.

A common gotcha is to have a 2XX shortcode on your system to catch the dialing on extension numbers that don't exist and reroute them back to the auto-attendant module.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.
