I am trying to set up a three-router chain so that I can extend the range of my network. All three routers are the Belkin F5D7230-4. I can't seem to get a consistent answer from the Belkin help desk and the documentation doesn't seem to cover this.

Here's the configuration I want:
Router 1 is connected to my cable modem
Router 2 sits in a position where it can "see" both router 1 and router 3.
Router 3 is in my son's house about a block away, line of sight. It can't see Router 1.

I want to have my son to connect wirelessly to Router 3 and access the internet. Can anyone suggest what the proper setup should be?

Here's what I have: Router 1 is set up as a wireless bridge and has the wlan Mac address of Router 2 entered. Router 2 is set up as a bridge and an access point. It has the wlan mac addresses of 1 and 3 entered in. Router 3 is set up as a bridge and access point and has the wlan mac address of Router 2 entered in. This is the combination recommended by the Belkin help desk.

I can hit either Router 1 or Router 2 wirelessly and make it out to the internet. However, in a wireless connection to Router 3, I can hit Router 2's web page but not get out to the web or ping Router 1.

Any suggestions?

Thanks, Bob
