Hi there!

I'm trying to build a complex IF THEN ELSE expression as a query criteria. However, it keeps cutting the expression off at a certain point.

Is there a character limitation when building expressions?

Thanks!

I just did a check of the Microsoft Knowledge Base, plugged in "character limitation in expressions" and found that in Access 2000 there is a limit of 511 characters in expressions used as criteria in queries.

Apparently, this limitation applies only to Access 2000.

The specific Knowledge Base article is 239565.

Maybe that article might help your situation.

Tom

Thanks!!! This worked.

Before reading your response, I tried building the query on my computer at work and it was accepting just making me more frustrated.....

Thanks again!!!!!!!!
