Hi guys, we recently replaced our PBX with the CS1000E and Call Pilot. With our old Rolm Phonemail we used an extension to transfer callers to someone's voicemail box. The Rolm would put the caller on soft hold after transfer is pressed, then the user would dial Phonemail's express message DN and after entering the voicemail box number and #, the Phonemail system would announce "you may now release the caller" and the caller would hear the person's personal greeting from the beginning.

Call Pilot express message - after you enter the voicemail box you want to transfer the caller to, and hit #, the greeting starts before you have even transferred the caller. By the time you hit connect (or transfer), the outside caller misses the first part of the personal greeting. Seems tacky and we are looking for a fix.

Is there a clean way with Call Pilot to allow a caller to be transferred to someone's mailbox and have them hear the entire greeting? (other than press # and connect faster)

Thanks

use conf then rls when you and the caller hears the greeting..

or build an app that gives you that 2 second delay and the same type rolm msg..

i always loved the old rolm mail.. all the rolm products were great until simmons improved them

Thanks John, can you expand on the Application Builder possibility? It's still eventually pointing towards Express Message DN isn't it? Is there a way with an App to string together the number of the person's voicemail and # WITH a delay after that?

Agreed on the Rolm, what a great machine that was, both the 9751 (9005) and their Phonemail product.

We are still trying to get the Nortel CS1000 to do all of the things the Rolm did. We were not successful on a lot of features. Oh well, must adapt to Nortel.

For "important" user, you can create a second DN that just lands right in the mailbox without pressing mailbox numbers and #'s. Create a Phantom TN with DCFW to CP and add that DN to the users DN list in their mailbox.

Now dial or transfer to the Phantom DN and poof you are in their mailbox after one ring. It's good for those users you must give every bell and whistle to.

I'll give that a shot, thank you. Our Administration secretaries, oops, I mean Administrative Assistants are requiring it for all of the VPs, etc., High Priority.
