Hi,

I have searched the archives and can find nothing on exporting a ".gif" image to Excel using a web query.

I am doing some research and want to check (using Excel)every hour some solar data from the page
At the top of that page there are two ".gif" images entitled "Solar X-rays" and "Geomagnetic Field". When I do a web query on those pages I get all the printed data onto excel but not the two gif images which is what I am interested in.

Is there a way to do a web query so that those gif images will appear in Excel? Right now I just get a blank cell where it should be written.

As an aside I have actually produced a web page stored on my C drive with just the gifs (no text) so as not to download all the unwanted data but still I get no image when I do a query.

Thanks in advance of you can help

AliJay

I would also be grateful if anyone reads this and knows that there is no way of making a dynamic .gif image appear in an Excel worksheet when a web query is submitted so that I am not hitting my head on a brick wall - because it hurts :)

All the best,

Alison
