I have a report that gets created in Access, and I would like to be able to create a template in Excel to where the Access report could be exported, and once in Excel, the report could be edited. As of now, the Access report cannot be edited.

Can this be done?
If so, how can the fields in the Access report be directed to the Excel template? Do the fields have to be mapped?

Do you really need to have the _report_ exported, or just the data from the report? If it is just the data, I think the solution will be easier.

Kathryn

I only need the data from the Access report. Once in Excel, the user will be able to edit the data (calculations). I am assuming that I would be able to have the data imported into Excel in some type of report format. Am I assuming correctly?

Actually, Access has a great method, OutputTo, which sounds like what you are looking for. Check out the help file and see if that is what you need. The method can output directly to *.xls format.

Kathryn

So can the TranferSpreadsheet Action/Method.

However, both the output to, and the TranferSpreadsheet method, can only save the data as a .xls file. They CAN'T plug data into particular sheets and cells on a spreadsheet or template. You can only do this with code using Access and Excel VBA objects and methods.
Jim Lunde
compugeeks@hotmail.com
<a href= Application Development

Is it possible to first use the TransferSpreadsheet, and then send the generated file as an attachement to an email ?

I'm truying to dump info from a database to excel and send it to the persons who need the file.

This dump is about 20 times a day ... any help
