Hi,

Hi,

I hope that someone can help. I am running Quark 6.0 on Windows XP with a HP Deskjet 930C printer.

Every time I try to export a layout as a PDF, I get the following message:

"QuarkXPress (tm)
To save a layout as a PDF file, a PostScript printer must be set up to print to a file."

Can anyone tell me what this means and how I can export to PDF?

I don't that is a postscript printer. Not as certain with windows about installing drivers, but is there something available like a virtual printer description to use to write the postscript file for distillation?

Thank you! I was having the exact same problem, which was getting quite frustrating! But I went to Downloads.com and found a free Adobe Universal PostScript Printer Driver that seems to have down the trick! Good luck! I am glad to know I wasn't the only one going crazy over it.

hi all,
try installing a virtual post script printer like Apple 1200 PS and its port shoud be :print to file.

you could also hit print then hit printer then use osx's pdf feature by click on save as pdf or preview, either on will create a pdf for you

sorry was half asleep. do you have acrobat standard or pro installed

Hello!

I have a similar problem.

I run QuakXpress Passport 5 on a WinXP professional PC (service pack 2 installed), and can't get the program to export to .pdf format.

I downloaded the above mentioned Adobe universal postscript printer drivers set, but when tring to open it, I get this error message: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM§"\AUTOEXEC:NT The system file isn't able to open MS-DOS or Windows applications (rough translation from German).

What should I do? Help is appreciated! Thanks!
