Hi all,

First of all, im from Holland so it's possible i will make some grammar errors, sorry for that. I will try to make the best of it. Second, if checked this site..and its a great site with alot of smart people helping other smart people. And third...my problem!! :)
Im using a JVC DV camera and I cant get premiere to export to the cam. And yes, it should be possible, because its not a really new cam on which it isnt possible in Europe. When i try to export to tape, i get the question if i want to automatic record, if i say yes, the camera starts recording and i'll get to see the first frame of my (great!!!) movie :) and then the screen goes black and goed back to premiere. The camera keeps recording, but only black.
Does anybody have experience with this?

Thanks anyway!!

Is your camera on the list of supported devices for Premiere?

Cheers,

Yes, i believe it is. I dont know where i can find that list. But i can capture images from my camere using premiere. So it does work.

You should post the details of your system.

Did your camera come with any other editing software?

The system is good. Its a new pc, with XP, the hard drive is big enough, so thats not the problem. I believe it has something do to with settings from premiere. Or maybe..i dont know..some driver from JVC? I dont know. I mailed JVC, but they are not so fast replying! :)
Is there a list of steps i should do, do export the movie to the cam?

Thanx!

You should post such details as your hardware. What model camera, video card make and model, etc.

You should be able to visit the camera site online and see if there was any sort of bundled software that shipped with it. My goal in asking this is to give you an opportunity to try different kinds of software to do the same thing. So, if your camera shipped with a bundled copy if VideoWave, for example, and you were able to write to the camera from VideoWave, then you would know the problem was not in the OS or the interaction of the peripherals.

There is no guarantee that a new pc with WinXP and a big hard drive will not have a problem talking with a video camera.

Can you export from Premiere to an AVI or Quicktime file on your hard drive?

Cheers,

Yes, i can export to an avi.
I will check out my system and let it know here. Im not sure if the camera came with software, because the camera is from my gf's school. I do have ULead...but i dont know yet how that works. But i will try it.
