Hi

My Application does not able to export data to Excel file from Crystal Report. My application is developed using VB 6.0 and SQL Server7.0. I am using Crystal Reports 7 for
Reports. When I am trying to export Data from Crystal Reports from my application to Excel, Its creating a Blank Excel file without any data in it.
I don't know whether I need to select any option.
Any help will be highly appreciated.

If you have more than 65000 rows in your selected data, or your page formatting is such that it will create more than 65000 rows in Excel then you can't do it. The problem is not CR but rather the limit on the number of rows in Excel.

Run your report with "Preview Sample" and select only a handlful of records. If that can export to Excel, you've found the cause of your problem.

Setting section formatting and turning OFF (untick) 'Free Form Placement' can help reduce the number of rows and maybe it might fit under the 65000 row limit.

Hi

I tried changing the dlls from WinNT\Crystal to
WinNT\System32. But it didn't work.
Total no of rows is not more than 2000.(far less than 65000).

FYI

The limit of 65000 rows is no longer there in Crystal Reports 9 & 10. The report now creates additional sheets inside the same excel file,if the rows excceed 65000.
