Hi,

Im currently test bedding putting w2k pro on my workstations which network to a NT4 server. Previously I just had 9x workstations. I have instaled w2k pro on one machine so far and setup a group policy given that the machines are in an educational environment, however I do not particuarly want to go through the setup of a group policy for each individual workstation. Is there some way that the settings can be either a) stored on the NT server and called at login script or b) exported to disk and then just put on each work station? Not only would this save time but ensure consistency of settings across the network.

TIA for any help

Amb3rsil,

You really need a Win2000 server to get full benefit of Group Policies - set up one and assign to whichever machines you require.

However without the AD and just concentrating on Local group policies - why not create a local security template
- run an mmc and add local security templates snap-in.

After you have customised a template you can save it and assign to all the machines you need.
This is probably the simplest and most effective solution in your situation I think .

Hope this is of use

Cheers
