Exported Excel Text Only will not update

Using CR 10.0 and Excel 2003.

I have numerous reports created in Crystal Report that export a Excel (text only) file that is linked to and Excel 2003 spreadsheet.

I have other Excel reports that link to the same Excel 2003 spreadsheet.

When I open the Excel 2003 spreadsheet and am prompted to update the links, upon replying "yes", the report will open.

The problem is that the Crystal Reports that export as Excel (text only) are not updating. The only way these files will update is if they are opened first.

When I check the Link Status on the Excel 2003 spreadsheet, the Excel reports report back as "OK", but the exported crystal reports report back as "Error: Source not found". I can "Open Source" from the Edit Links, but they will not update without being open.

Any suggestions?

Does the report require a log on to access the database?

Yes it does. The report uses my network logon when it exports from Crystal Enterprise.
