Ramani mentions in passing in the interesting thread on forcing shutdown that he exports data to PDF. How do you do this? Using the FDF toolkit? I've managed to find stuff on submitting to a database via Acrobat forms, but how can you generate a PDF directly from the data. Any info gratefully received

Are you asking "How to export a VFP report to a PDF document?" if so one solution, take a look at faq184-2143. Mike Gagnon

If you want to get the best response to a question, please check out FAQ184-2483 first.

This is useful, but my problem is that the typography of the report is so complicated that it will be very cumbersome (if not impossible) to produce using the report generator. I was hoping that if I can get a PDF form with all the client's beautiful design in place and a few form fields added, then dropping the data into the form fields would be reasonably straightforward ... but I can't figure how to send the data to the form.

I realize this thread is old.

If you are still interested, I use a .prg to create an FDF file and link it to a PDF file; then ShellExecute to print the combined file.

If you have any questions or would like some sample coding, I'd be glad to help.
