Export problems in Premiere

I cannot export timeline at all. I'm using Premiere 6.0.
When I attempt to export to my Sony DV camcorder, it just races out of control, about 10 x normal speed. The same thing happens when I try to export to tape or export the movie. Have not been able to find any help anywhere on this. Any ideas?? Thanks
