Hi,

Client Workstation
There is a folder called "Contacts" in my stand alone Outlook client (as does everyone else :) ). Typically, there are multiple contacts located here.

Exchange Server 2000
On the Server,
in "Active Directory Users and Computers [DomainName]" -> "Domain" -> There is an Organization Unit called, "OUnit"

I would like to export all the contacts from the client workstation's Outlook client and import it into the Exchange Server's Orgranization Unit, so that the contacts will be in a cetrailized location and can be accessed from all members that log on to the Exchange server.

Please comment.

Thanks in advance.

Not sure exactly what you're looking for.

You could export the Contacts folder to a PST file, and import them into a Public Folder and grant everyone access.

If you want these Contacts from the mailbox to show up as GAL "contacts" you could export the Contacts from the mailbox to a CSV file, and import them as GAL contacts using csvde.exe.

If you want the Contacts to be in everyone's mailbox, export the contacts to a PST file, and exmerge it into everyone's mailbox.

Basically I want a cetralized location for all contacts so that when I add a new contact or edit an existing one, everyone in the Exchange orgranization will have the updated contact information when composing a new message. That is, everyone will be able to choose the same exact contacts when composing an e-mail message.

Judging by your responses, I am assusming that option number 1 is the best approach.

If yes, then how can this be done?

Thanks
