Hey,

I am trying to export an Access 2000 table into excel. If I try to use the anylize with Excell function my fields that are >255 characters get truncated. Ditto if I try cutting and pasting into Excel. If I export table object directly a bunch of nonprintable formatting characters gets dragged along which I have to remove using the "CLEAN" function. Any ideas?

-Thanks
Marc

The only way to get more than 255 characters out of access is to Export the table. You could try cleaning the field in a query and then running a make-table query to pull the data out. I do this sort of thing to send product databases to an online store we deal with. They require that all our description fields have a Carriage Return stripped and replaced with a <BR> that is then replaced again with their software upon submission back to the carriage return. If you need the function to strip characters let me know!
