We are in the process of migrating from one domain/forest to another. There are contact items in the directory that were created to show up in contact lists so we can email people that are not part of our directory. I have not found an option to migrate, copy or export/import these types of objects. Does anyone know how to accomplish getting them to the new domain without needing to re-create them manually?

TIA!!

You could export using ldifde.

Example, from command prompt on your DC:

Code:
ldifde -f c:\export.ldf -d "ou=<OU>,dc=<domain>,dc=<tld>" -r "(
objectClass=contact)"

You can then use this LDF file to import into new environment. You can't ruin anything by exporting, but be careful when you import. You may want to play around with exporting for a while to get the hang of it.

Here's a good resource on using LDIFDE.

Hope This Helps,

Good Luck!
