I keep getting an error on Explorer.exe and then some programs which are running in the tray just get closed. It happens mainly when i shutdown the machine. The same problem is happening on my laptop and my desktop computer.

have you installed the latest patches/SPs ?
what OS do u have ? and what version of IE ? (try using 98SE + IE 5.5 SP2)
