It is running on an HP laptop, wireless her ip addrsss is 10.0.0.0, which seems odd to me,, I say it is something with the update that came down this morning,,, but when I trie to restore back to a restore point,, it fails.. Ideas?? suggestions??? her ip setting are get an address,, nothing is set.

System Restore may work from Safe Mode when for any reason it fails in Normal Mode. Talking of Safe Mode, do you have access to any web pages from Safe Mode With Networking.

You can also try Add or Remove to uninstall any recent updates.

You can try resetting your Winsock settings too.

What browser are you using? You can try running IE7 with "No Add-ons", if it is that. This article has a good checklist, if your browser is the problem.
