Hi all,
What have I set to make tapes automatically go to recycle. Actually expired tapes still have append state.
Where it can be set ?
I have defined 10 days period. What should be set additionally.

What about the stored savesets on that tape, are they all belonging to clients wich are still available, reachable and configured as nw-client?
I remember situations like we had savesets of already removed clients stored on several tapes, This savesets will never expire exept I
-re-configured the corresponding "obsolete" client,
-delete the saveset
-and than delete the client again.

Also abborted saveset could prevent networker for relabeling expired tapes, I guess.

what status do the stored savesets have and are they part of an incr. or full Backup?

Regards Spaceball

Networker 7.1.2 on windows has a bug that prevents recycle a tape even when all save sets are expired.

1. try running [tt]nsrmm -X[/tt]
2. take a look to the volumes (does it go to recycle?)
3. if yes you need to apply the patch LGTpa62790
4. -OR- run [tt]nsrmm -X[/tt] everyday.
5. -OR- upgrade to 7.1.3 or 7.2

Cheers.

Hi i had the same problem on 7.1.2 and mentioned patch has helped.
Now i run 7.2 without this kind of problems.

But anyway, I am running "nsrim -X" daily from task scheduler to be sure.
