Exmerge tool gives error in Windows NT 4.0 with Exchange 5.5 ?

We are in the process of Migrating exchange 5.5 from NT 4.0 box to exchange 2003 on SBS 2003 box.


I had downloaded the Exmerge tool from microsoft site and extracted it into our /exchsrvr/bin directory in my Nt 4.0 box and when I click on the utility I get this error:


"The procedure entry point GetComputernameExw could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll"


This is NT 4.0 (Service pack 6) box


Any help !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi!
What version is the ExMerge utility that you are using? The latest one - 06.05.7529, can only be run from Exchange Server 2003 or from computers with the Exchange 2003 administrative tools loaded.

Do not forget to use the Exmerge version which works with Exchange 2003 when you import the PST files.

Thanks for the reply.

I'm acutually trying to move all our exchane email boxes
from an NT 4.0 ( ABC domain ) to our new SBS 2003 server( XYZ domain ).

I will create the same users as what I have in NT 4.0 in SBS 2003 and was trying to see how to export and import exchange mail boxes from NT 4.0 (exchange 5.5) to SBS 2003 ( exchange 2003).


I did downlod the Exmerge.exe what you had give for NT 4.0 and I did export one test mail box(john.pst) and it created a .PST file in the source server.

Later I moved this .PST to the new SBS 2003 server.

Created a new user account as JOHN in the SBS 2003 server.

Now I had invoked the Exmerge tool form SBS 2003 box ( new exmerge utility from microsoft) and ran it to import the john.pst into the new server.


Am I doing it in the right way ?
