Hello all,

Whenever I exit screensaver (by moving mouse or pressing key, etc.) the program in foreground shuts down. If the focus is on the desktop, windows displays the shutdown menu. It is as if someone pressed alt-F4 every time the screen saver terminates.

I can't find any references to this problem on google.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Are you using one of XP's standard Screensavers, or is it a third party import?

If it is a non-XP Screensaver, does it have any properties or settings you can check to see how it acts on closing?

Otherwise can you tell us what Screensaver you are using and what settings you have selected for it to use on closing?

The screensaver is the default Blank one, but it has happened with others as well. It has no settings. The computer also turns off monitors in addition to the screensaver; I'm not sure to which of these two power options this problem is related.

However, my computer runs a program called WindowBlinds, which is integrated into the Appearance tab in Display Properties. That program has control over screensavers as well. This is the only screensaver related abnormality on the computer I can think of.

I am not really familiar with "WindowBlinds" is it possible to disable it from MsConfig (or uninstall it) and see if the problem prevails?
