Hi Folks,

I have a major active directory problem on our two DCs, I have tried everything and can't get the schemas to match etc. So I want to restore the AD for the two servers - how can I restore ONLY the AD - as when I go into system state I can't select the AD individually, only registry/com+/sysvol/bootfiles all together.

I dont want to restore the system state as I have installed service packs recently and this may cause problems

Thanks.

Matt
ps. Using Exec 9.0

You can't specify just the Active directory to be restored, you need the whole thing - no way around it.

i suggest you restore the AD, then re-apply the service packs.

Matt,

I don't know if you have the option of restoring the tape to another server but we are exporting our ADS using LDIFDE and importing the AD into our new server build.

We experienced signicant amount of problems with BE 9.0 and system state restore (blue screen). We are still testing with BE9.1 but are exporting the ADS in case we need to rebuild the server without system state restore.

Hope this is helpful.
