exe opening delay

Hello,

My clients are using my VB application which connects to an Access2000 database. Some clients find that it can take up to 90 seconds to open the application (3.62 Meg) and others 2-5 seconds. This The 90 second computers have plenty of RAM and at least 85% system resources free.

Can someone please let me know what may be causing this delay.

You may have referenced an ActiveX control which is not available on that machine. I know this certainly causes hang-ups in the debug environment.

Even if the control is not used in the code, if it is referenced and missing, delays can occur as the app scours the registry for the guid of the missing type library.
