When our servers get rebooted (even though is very seldom). The Exchange services doesn't automatically start. There is nothing
in the event log to give us any clues. It just says "starting" in the Services-console. When you manually start them there is no problem.

We did use ESEUTIL to check the database integrity but there was no problem.

Any suggestions/ideas/wild guesses will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Did you eventually figure this out. I just restated my exchange server and my services will no longer start automatically either....

my biggest guess is this exchange can't contact a GC, if the service account is not an issue.

your right... If i restart and give the server a bit more time to contact a GC... the services start just fine..

thanks

We did sort it out by installing SP1 on the DC and the hotfix, and Exchange 2003 SP1 on the Exchange server. We couldn't install 2003 SP1 on the Exchange server because there are win98 clients that couldn't get their mail after the install.
