exchange servers over vpn

I have one AD domain comprised of two DC's over a VPN.

If I install exchange 2003 onto each machine would I be able to link them up so that the users would be able to share Public calendars, tasks, etc?

Is it simply a case of putting them into the same exchange organisation?.

both sites have a 2mb adsl line
