I was wondering where I can find a good tech document to setup an Exchange Server using a Dynamic DNS client. I know my ISP blocks port 80 but not sure if they block port 25 for SMTP. I have a register domain name and an Exchange server but how do I go about implementing the dyndns piece.

I was wondering if ther was a good read.

check out the exchange forumn on tek-tips.

BTW, you will have problems sending e-mail as a lot domains do not accept messages from mailservers without revDNS entires (i.e. non-static domains).

You can get around this by using your ISPs mailserever to send (assuming they let you)

I would run my own DNS Server and setup reverse DNS. I can do that to take care of domain accepting my mail?

I don't know much about Dynamic DNS services. However, as long as an external entity can sucessfully resolve the MX record of your SMTP Mail hostname to the IP address sending the mail using a reverse lookup, then you should be fine. Since you will be hosting your own zone, then I guess you have it coverved.

Goto dnsreport.com to test this out.
