Hello,

Need some Help.

I have a exchenge Server 5.5, Lately I have a problem, hard drive gooing full and when I'm clining some files and making some space still filling up, I find out Archive Folder under in and out Folder going biger and biger ( like in one I have a over 6,000,000 file ) and I can't open that folder to see I can cleanup, any sogestion ?

Thanks,
Robert

The two ARCHIVE folders (one under IN and one under OUT) in IMCDATA can both be cleared of files to free up your disk space.

If you're having trouble deleting the files simply because there are so many files in the directory, you can stop the IMS service one evening or weekend, and then just delete the whole ARCHIVE folder. After Windows Explorer catches up with the task, simply recreate the (empty) folder again. [Don't delete the IN or OUT folders when you're doing this.]

The files are accumulating in these directories because you have Message Archiving set on in the Diagnostic Logging tab of the IMS (that's in your Connecters container). Turn the option off, and then stop and restart the IMS service to pick up the new logging settings. You can always turn the message archiving back on again for a specific period if you need to trouble-shoot the service.

Thank you very much for this information, I knew that but I was going to make sure not ganna be a problem.

Thanks again,
Robert
