We have just finished restoring our main servers and data except for all of our exchange/outlook data.. calendars, inboxes - whatnot. Due to the timing of the crash, we would be missing approximately 10 hours of communications if restored from tape.

- The contents of \exchsrvr\ are intact and the new installation has set up a home in a new folder location. What would be the ramifications (is it even possible to) of copying the contents of \exchsrvr\ to the new location and overwriting the new files?

- Is there a useful method of extracting select contents of the old database and placing it in the new?

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated!

best thing is to make sure you have the transaction logs,
restore stores or storage groups and replay the log files
