I moved my exchange server behind my ISA server.

I moved the registered IP to the ISA server setup the secure mail site to point internally to my exchange server externally to the registered IP. I can receive mail, however I can't send mail.

I followed MS white paper:

1) MS ISA Server 2000 - Configuring and Securing MS Exchange 2000 Server and Clients

2) MS KB 811084: Cannot send SMTP Outbound Mail Through ISA Server.

I still can't send mail.

Further investigation: Under the properties of the que it says "Unable to bind to the destination server in DNS"

Any ideas?

I fixed it.

It was a DNS issue I had to allow DNS query protocol on my SMTP rules. I don't allow internal computers to query outside the network.

I too have that same erro. Is that located in the Server Publishing Rules under the Miar wizard rule SMTP? I am not near there and may have to walk someone thru where it is exactly that I add that "allow dns query" or is that located under protocol rules...??
