exchange patch question

I installed Q320436 security update yesterday.

I was looking through my server logs and discovered I accidentally forgot to install Q316056. I proceeded to install it.

Question, is it permissable to install these patches in reverse order? IE, is exchange smart enough to know not to replace a newer file with an older one in the event these patches have similar files?

Both patches installed without incident.

You always do the newest fixes last. They aren't smart patches. Dan
