Thanks Justin 2000. I'll have to study that page hard to make sure that I can remove the edb.chk file that they are talking about.
The message I gave above came up when trying to start the information store. However, the event ID has many of the 1120 and 5000 errors that are mentioned in the article.
The article says to try and remove the edb.chk file, but if you do it under the wrong conditions you could really mess everything up and may irreparably damage the database!
