Exchange Client is slow on loading

I installed Microsoft small busiess server 2000 (exchange server). All clients managed to launch outlook with no problems. We had a technitian from bell south who installed our DSL and he changed the configuration on clients machine gateway and DNS. This was not what I wanted so I put the proper configurations on the DHCP server and removed his setting on the clients machine. Since then I can ping all clients and servers via name or I.P. but when opening outlook I experience a long delay opening information store. After 30 seconds I have to press the retry button and only then will it let me in with not performance degregation.
TCPIP is the only protocol.

Please Help
