Hello all,

I am currently backing up approxmately 200GB of data across a 1GB Switched network. Two servers, one file server and the other an exchange 2k3 server.

All the data files (including the exchange datastore files) and system partitions backup quickly.

The per message backup (brick-level) for exchange is the part that takes the longest - for a datastore that has approxmately 500,000 emails it takes almost 5 hours at about 50MB/min.

Is there anything we can do to speed this process up short of stopping brick levels?

total backup time is now approaching 12 hours.

Thanks all,

Sam

There is nothing that can be done. 50mb/min is acutally nothing to complain about. The mailbox backup use MAPI and its just a limiation of MAPI and accessing Active directory for the information.
