Here is the scenario
Windows 2000 Server
ArcServe 9.01 SP4A
Exchange 2000 Server
Everything else backs up just fine, but I am running into the following error when Backing up Exchange:
8601 Failed to connect agent. (AGENT=agent name, EC=error message/code)
I have started and stopped the RPC Server Agent Service on both systems, the Exchange Server and the server where ArcServe is located.
I have used every combination of password and user names out of frustration.
CA e-support site is worthless. That hasn't changed in the 3 years I have needed to access, which prevents me from even bothering with their Tech Support. I have always found better info when it comes to most products on this forum.
Also, this worked fine 2 weeks ago, but we changed out the server. Same exact configuration????
Also, I see some unhappy posts in regards to restoring from an Arcserve Exchange backup. Do I need to find an alternate backup means for Exchange. I am for the most part happy when it comes to backing up files and SQL.
Thanks in advance,
Suzanne
