Exchange Backup Hangs nearing completion

On my server, I have the exchange agent installed. BE runs local on this server. the size of an average successful backup is around 66 Gig. Today the Job is going up to 63 Gig and hangs. stays like this for hours but nothing. When I cancel the job, its not gone from the activity monitor. I have to restart the services before it is marked failed in the activity monitor.

I wonder why the job gets hung toward completion. Any insight will be appreciated...

open the job, view the log file. See what the current activity is. That will isolate the current problem. Using "loading" or other out of space on tape issue.

It does not have any specific information. I am running the job right now again, the last time it happenned i had to recycle the services and I lost all traces of the hung job as well as the log files. I will post the log file again once this job hangs.

careful before posting it - wipe any sensitive information.

when you double click the job, near the top is status or something similar which usually tells you what it is doing. Check that first.
