I have Exchange 2000 and I am running the exchange mail client on my workstations. When my clients receive a email with an attachment of any kind of size it takes a while to down load as it should, but when you click off of that email and click back to it re download it every time as if it has never been download. It is really causing me a problem in some my departments.

Can any one tell me is this by design or can I modify this change a setting somewhere?

This is by design for a MAPI client. Exchange 2003 is supposed to offer improved performance on this subject, or perhaps an option to cache the attachment...sorry, can't remember which.

BTW, you mean Outlook client, since Exchange doesn't have a "client".

There used to be an Exchange client called Exchange client. Came with NT Workstation and early Windows 95s. Wasnt very good though...

Perhaps, but that has nothing to do with Exchange 2000. Exchange 2000 doesn't have a "client", per say.
