From my backup server, which is best to use? TCP/Ip or named pipes. I just got my agent to connect without any problem and I now want to get the backup going.

Thanks

Will it do a brick level backup with tcpip or does it have to be Named Pipes?

DB Agents are not my strong point, but I "think" Bricks level has to be Named Pipes.

Web Definition: named pipes - A method of interprocess communication, originally developed for OS/2, that provides a secure channel for network communication.

From Microsoft:
Named Pipes
A named pipe is a named, one-way or duplex pipe for communication between the pipe server and one or more pipe clients. All instances of a named pipe share the same pipe name, but each instance has its own buffers and handles, and provides a separate conduit for client-server communication. The use of instances enables multiple pipe clients to use the same named pipe simultaneously.
