I'm planning a migration from Exchange 5.5 on a Windows 2000 system to a new Exchange 2k3 running Windows 2000. The current priv.edb database on the E55 server is 17.8Gb with 410 mailboxes. If the database size in E55 is supposed to be limited to 16GB, how come my current database is larger then that limit.

Also, with the migration to E2K3, is the database going to increase during the migration or will it say relativly the same size as it currently is?

Am I correct in saying that E2K3 Standard has a limit of 16GB as well for the mail database? Should I invest in E2k3 Enterprise instead since my .edb dtabase is already at almost 18GB???? I do not forsee our organization increasing the number of mailboxes to any more then 500.

Confused,
Troy

Troy - suggest you get the Enterprise version if at all possible rather than going for one upgrade then having to go for another upgrade as you'll lose credibility with the boss...

Standard = 16GB. If you are running 5.5 standard, I'm not sure how you've managed to get a priv.edb that big!
