Hi,

I'm running Exchange 5.5 and I've currently installed a Third part application (on the Exchange server) that needs to send mail. This is a Web based app and when I attempt to send email, I receive the following error:

The following errors were encountered:
LBE_mail.SendSMTPMailMessage:
-2147418113 The message was undeliverable. All servers failed to receive the message

The supplier says that my Exchange Server is not accepting SMTP request. When I run telnet to connect to my mailserver's smtp port and try to send an email I get an error saying "502 unimplemented" I have checked my configuration on Exchange, but I can't figure out what's happening? My Exchange routing config is as follows.

"Reroute incoming SMTP mail"
"sent to mydomainname is routed as inbound.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

What user context is the web-app running in? Does it have the ability to authenticate?

Check your Internet Mail Service -> Connections tab to see who you are accepting connections from.

More importantly: under the Servers list, in the Protocols area for your server, open the properties for POP3 and make sure it's enabled.

Hi Shack

Thanks for responding. The web-app does not sem to have the ability to authenticate.

My Internet mail service is configured as I stated above
Reroute incoming SMTP mail is selected and the routing info states
Mail sent to: xxx@mycompany.ho
Route To <inbound>

In Protocols, POP3 is enabled.
