Recently, I've got a wierrrddd problem. That is ;

- Environment : Windows 2000 professional.
Outlook 2000 as client
Exchange server is 5.5.
Pure Microsoft Protocols(TCP/IP, Client for....and so on)

- Problem ;
His outlook works perfect! sending, receiving, making a Meeting Request....etc.
Only, when he gets meeting requests from others and tries to respond, "Accept /Tentive / Decline", he got an Error ;

[Program Error]
Outlook.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows.
You will need to restart the program.

An error log is being created.

The application,, generated an application error The error
occurred on 04/17/2002 @10:58:47:593 The exception generated
was c0000005 at address 308E04B1(_MsoPvFree)

- I tried Reset his menu button"Accept/Decline/Tentive"
Tried Accept/../.. from Action menu, but the same error.
Only the 3 button was clicked, the error shows up.
Other buttons works fine.
Uninstalled Virus scan software-Deleted from Registry Local Machine.
This happens in my PC too, when i open his outlook logging on as himself.
After rebuidling his PC, the same error.
In his PC, others meeting request "Accept, decline, tentive" works fine.

- And a lot of trial was done(detect & repairs, delete personal profile folder,....)

Anybody has some idea?

If this error happens on your computer as well as his when accessing his mailbox then it only leaves one thing to try:

Go into his mailbox,
Export everything in it to a pst file,
Delete the mailbox,
Set up a new mailbox for him,
Open his new mailbox and import everything back in from the pst file.

Hope this helps

I agree with Ricardo. Export his mail to a PST file, purge his mailbox and recreate the mailbox again, then import the PST file back. A couple of other things to check first:

(1) What version of outlook 2000? Is this at SR1/1a?
(2) If not at Sr1 try updating his office program to SR1
(3) Run Windows update on his PC and see if there are any
updates for his PC. I know this is not related to
outlook but it does not hurt to download the latest
patches and updates
(4) What Service Pack is he at on his Windows 2000 PRO PC?
Make sure you are at SP2

Tnx for the answers.

- Outlook 2000 SR1
- Win2000 Pro SP2

>>Delete the mailbox,
>>Set up a new mailbox for him,

Richardo, you mean, set up his mailbox in Server side?
or you mean, in client side?

it sounds like Server, Exchange5.5 side, right?

tnx in advance!

Yeah, delete his mailbox from Exchange Admin. What I tend to do is rename their current mailbox and the current mailboxes alias field, set up the new mailbox exactly the same (you will have to move any email addresses from the old account.) Once you've imported all the information from the .pst file and the user is happy I then delete the original.
The mail settings on the users PC will need to have the 'check name' button pressed to point to the new mailbox. [elf]

Tnx, Richardo.

Have a nice day~
