We have a 4 site Exchange organisation.
All Exchange servers are Exchange 5.5 service pack 3 with MTA hotfixes installed.
The sites include:
Hub site which contains two Exchange servers one acting as the Bridgehead server.
Four Remote sites each site containing one Exchange server.
there is a X.400 connector connecting each site together.
Each site is separated by a WAN (Kilostream link with at least 128Kb/s with the exception of two one with a 2mb/s link Megastream and one with 256kb/s speed) link.
The problem we have been experiencing is that the MTA queues are very slow and frequently stop queueing mail up sometimes delaying an e-mail travelling over the connection for up to a day.
We have had a call logged with Microsoft who over a number of months got us to install Exchange sp3 and the MTA hotfix on all the servers. They also told us to turn logging on the MTA and X.400 up to maximuma and run performance monitor and network monitor on all the affected servers. This provided us with various log files which we sent to them. Microsoft have checked the configuration of the X.400 conne4ctors and inform us that they are configured correctly.
They could only come to the conclusion that we were experiencing network problems as there are no errors on in the event logs of any of the servers.
As we do not seem to be experiencing any network problems with any other applications I am finding this hard to beleive.
Does any one out there have any other ideas what coud as you are my last hope this is driving me bats!!!!!!
Cheers
Nichols
